RKN included the owner of Aviasales in the register of companies subject to landing

Roskomnadzor included the foreign company Go Travel Un Limited, which owns the airline ticket search service Aviasales, in the register of companies subject to “landing”. Aviasales reported that Roskomnadzor’s requirement will not affect the operation of the service for selecting air tickets.

“Go Travel Un Limited is subject to the law on “landing” because it disseminates information in Russian on its information resource. The daily audience of the Internet resource exceeds 500 thousand users located in the Russian Federation,” says the press release departments.

According to the law, the company must open an office in Russia, publish Russian email on the website for user feedback and register a personal account with Roskomnadzor for prompt communication with the agency.

In addition, foreign persons are obliged to limit access to information that violates Russian legislation, the message conveys. In case of violation of Roskomnadzor requirements, coercive measures may be taken against the company.

Representatives of Aviasales reported RBCthat the products of Go Travel Un Limited already comply with the key conditions of Roskomnadzor: the posted information complies with Russian laws, there is a feedback form, user data is stored on Russian servers. The department’s decision will not affect the work of Aviasales, the company emphasized.

The Aviasales company was founded in 2007 and is located in St. Petersburg. The sole shareholder of the Russian air ticket search service is the Cyprus company Go Travel Un Limited. According to Aviasales data published on their official website, 15 million people use the service every month.

The law on “landing” foreign companies was signed by Russian President Vladimir Putin in 2021. For non-compliance with the law, administrative fines and sanctions from Roskomnadzor are provided, including a ban on advertising in Russia and absence from Russian search results.
