In Crimea, the resort fee will not be introduced until the completion of a special military operation in Ukraine, said the head of the region, Sergei Aksyonov.
“Until the special military operation is completed, the issue of introducing a resort tax on the territory of the Republic of Crimea is not relevant,” the governor wrote in his Telegram channel.
He also noted the need to evaluate the experience of colleagues from those regions where such a fee was introduced earlier.
“Preliminary data show not the highest performance, given the cost of administration and so on,” said Mr. Aksenov.
According to the governor, the Crimean authorities are waiting for the end of the holiday season to analyze the work of tourism enterprises this year, following which it is possible to work out additional measures to support local hoteliers.
Recall that the Crimea, Krasnodar, Altai and Stavropol Territories were included in the pilot project of a tax experiment on the introduction of a resort fee of 100 rubles. on the day that they were going to implement from May 2018. However, the authorities of the peninsula repeatedly postponed it, explaining this by the lack of a mechanism for collecting the fee and the unpreparedness of the local tourism industry for it. Then in the government of the republic cited economic problems due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
