To restore equipment at the LUKOIL oil refinery (MOEX: LKOH) Nizhegorodnefteorgsintez in Kstov, Nizhny Novgorod region, will require at least 1–1.5 months, said Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak. The operation of the process unit at the refinery has been stopped since January 4.
“The enterprise is assessing technical solutions for restoration, assessing the possibility of quickly restoring equipment; this will determine how long it will take. The minimum is still somewhere around 1–1.5 months,” said Mr. Novak as part of Energy Day at the Russia exhibition (quoted by TASS).
The Nizhny Novgorod Oil Refinery is one of the largest Russian oil refineries. Its refining capacity is 17 million tons of oil per year. According to Rostekhnadzor, on January 4, due to a malfunction of a compressor part at the refinery’s catalytic cracking unit worked automatic emergency protection system.
