About 400,000 branded Coca-Cola refrigerators and at least 200,000 PepsiCo devices located in Russian stores may be affected by the rebranding due to the withdrawal of companies from Russia. According to sources RBCcompanies plan to change the design of refrigeration units.
As Oleg Ponomarev, co-owner of the Semya and Spar Kaliningrad chains, told the publication, before the manufacturers left the Russian market, the country was divided into “red and blue regions” (according to the colors of the company dominating the local market). Since the 1990s, Coca-Cola and Pepsi refrigerators have been one of the main marketing tools for manufacturers on the Russian market. They were provided to retail outlets free of charge with a number of conditions in the contract with the retailer, in particular, a ban on placing other people’s products in such refrigerators.
Distributor of Coca-Cola in Russia announced on the termination of the production and sale of drinks in Russia on June 16. PespiCo stopped advertising and beverage sales in Russia back in March.
