The authorities may allow civilian aircraft to use part of the closed space in the south of Russia, the corresponding meeting will be held on August 29. About it RBC sources in five companies of the Russian Federation reported. If this plan is approved, the flight time from Vnukovo to Sochi will be tentatively reduced by more than 20 minutes, and back by 10 minutes. Flight time may be reduced when flying from Moscow to Turkey, by how much – the sources did not specify.
We are talking about organizing flights from the central regions to the south of Russia, bypassing the airspace of Kazakhstan. The meeting with the airlines will be held by the State Air Traffic Management Corporation, the sources said.
Sochi Airport did not stop working, but the flight time to it has increased, RBC recalls. Previously, the travel time to it was about two and a half hours, now it is at least four hours.
Previously, the regime of restriction of flights to the south of Russia was extended until September 4th. Restrictions imposed due to military operation.
