RAPSI presented the center for the protection of the rights of citizens and business “White Internet”

Presentation of the human rights center “White Internet” took place in Moscow, reported in the Russian Agency for Legal and Judicial Information (RAPSI), which is the founder of the center.

The organization will be engaged in the expansion of guarantees for the protection of the rights of citizens and businesses in the field of digital technologies. Elina Sidorenko, Head of the Center for Digital Economy and Financial Innovation at MGIMO, is the General Director of the Center.

“The main goals of the White Internet will be to popularize the legal culture, the ideas of conscientiousness and law-abidingness in the digital sphere, to increase the level of digital culture and digital hygiene of the population,” Sidorenko said.

In addition, the center will deal with the safety of minors on the Internet. Sidorenko reported that more than 20% of children “experienced cyberbullying several times, and one in ten (11%) experienced it once.” The “White Internet”, according to the statement of the CEO, should become a platform for “dialogue between state and public organizations”, and will also improve the digital competencies of business and reduce its digital risks.

June 19 Vedomosti wrotethat the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (RSPP) proposed the creation of a National Coordinating Center for the Protection of the Rights of Entrepreneurs.

Such a center, according to the RSPP, could replace the business ombudsman, and the initiative itself may involve the merging of the existing institution of commissioners for the protection of the rights of businessmen with the ANO “Platform for working with entrepreneurs’ appeals” and the digital platform “For Business”, on which entrepreneurs can complain to pressure from law enforcement.
