Qiwi Bank filed a claim in the Arbitration Court against Fusion Factor Fintech Limited and Qiwi plc – Kommersant


JSC Qiwi Bank filed a claim in the Moscow Arbitration Court against JSC Qiwi, the Hong Kong company Fusion Factor Fintech Limited and Qiwi plc (MOEX: QIWI), follows from card indexes court. The lawsuit was filed on March 4. The file does not contain information about the requirements specified in the claim.

According to the court card, the case is a civil one. The third party in it is Registry JSC.

The Hong Kong company Fusion Factor Fintech Limited is owned by the chief executive officer of the Qiwi group, Andrey Protopopov. At the end of January, the Qiwi group, which included the bank of the same name, announced the completion of a transaction to sell the Russian assets of Fusion Factor Fintech Limited for more than 23.5 billion rubles. After the completion of the transaction to purchase Russian assets, Mr. Protopopov had to leave leadership positions in the foreign division of the company and head the Russian one.

On February 21, the Central Bank revoked the banking license of Qiwi Bank. The revocation of the license led to massive disruptions in the country's payment system. In particular, clients of Raiffeisenbank, Gazprombank, OTP-Bank, Sovcombank and Metallinvestbank suffered. The reason for the revocation of the license was cited by the Central Bank as systematic violations of AML/CFT legislation. On March 1, it became known that the FSB began a pre-investigation check of Qiwi Bank for the withdrawal of funds obtained illegally abroad.
