Putin wished all the best to the brands that left Russia

Many foreign brands under pressure from their governments are leaving Russia, which brings them big losses, declared Russian President Vladimir Putin at a meeting of the Supervisory Board of the Agency for Strategic Initiatives.

“Today, as you know, many of them, under pressure from their governments, are leaving our market, well, all the best, but because of the loss of our market, they suffer huge losses. It is their choice, it is their decision,” he said.

The head of state also pointed out that many of them, including those whom he knows personally, do this without pleasure. At the same time, the president drew attention to the fact that after the departure of brands, infrastructure and well-trained personnel remain. Domestic business has unique opportunities for development, he added.

“Probably, someone thought that everything would collapse and fall apart with us. Nothing like this is happening: our companies, entrepreneurs are picking up these enterprises and even directions,” Putin said.

After the start of the special operation in Ukraine, the largest Western brands announced their withdrawal from the Russian market and the suspension of investments. According to Yale University, more than 1,000 companies have reported this publicly. Electronics manufacturers (Apple, SamsungAsus, Intel, Sony, etc.), cars (Jaguar, Porsche, Rolls-Royce, Bentley) and other brands.

After the companies began to leave the Russian market, the Ministry of Industry and Trade approved a list of goods for parallel imports that can be imported into the Russian Federation without the consent of the manufacturer or copyright holder. In particular, it included goods from electronics manufacturers, cars, rare earth metals, sports equipment, etc.
