Putin urged to deal with the erroneous tax debt

Russian President Vladimir Putin, at a meeting with the government, announced the need to deal with erroneous tax debt due to the introduction of a single tax account (UNS) mechanism. According to Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, errors in the calculation of taxes occur both at the federal, and at the regional and municipal levels.
The head of the Federal Tax Service, Daniil Egorov, said that problems with the accrual of tax debts occur in connection with the introduction of the UNS mechanism. According to him, sometimes the balance of settlements with the budget is incorrectly reflected on the public services portal or in the personal account, as well as with the expectation of a certificate of no debt.
“You yourself drew attention to the formation of unjustified debt. Everything is known here, you all know, so we just need to fix it, this is a technical issue, we just need to put it in order, pay attention to it,” Vladimir Putin said.
“Yes, the whole system is really affected, this is a federal, regional, municipal system. Naturally, the transition must be monitored during the quarter, which is what we are doing,” the prime minister said. The head of the Federal Tax Service assured that “the number of problematic issues is already decreasing.”
In January, the Federal Tax Service explainedthat prior to conducting individual audits with the taxpayer, the agency will not collect debt in the form of a negative balance on the newly introduced ENTS. The moratorium is valid until March 1, 2023.
