Putin urged Russian companies to occupy market niches vacated due to sanctions

Russian President Vladimir Putin, at a meeting with the leaders of advanced engineering schools and their partners, said that the Russian market should be based on domestic developments. This is necessary so that when foreign companies return to Russia, the market is occupied by Russian manufacturers, he noted.

“It is necessary that our, domestic developments lie at the heart of everything. Because, in general, we need to strive for this and do it as soon as possible, because when yesterday’s foreign partners decide to return, and someday this will happen, it is necessary that the market be occupied by our producers, ”said Mr. Putin (quoted from “RIA News”).

He said that so far the Russian economy is not experiencing negative consequences from the withdrawal of foreign companies. However, the President pointed to a possible delayed negative effect.

“There are certain difficulties that have yet to be overcome, but everything is going as it should, we are overcoming them, there are no big failures. We understand the medium-term delayed effect of a possible negative, but in general, everything is fine so far,” the head of state said.
