Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree that allows the transfer of 100% of the shares of Vainakhavia JSC from the federal property to the Chechen Republic. This will allow Chechnya to attract investments for the modernization of Grozny International Airport. The decree was published on the official portal legal information.
According to the decree, the transfer of shares of the joint-stock company will allow the government of Chechnya to attract investments in the amount of at least 7.14 billion rubles by the end of 2026. for the “comprehensive reconstruction, construction and modernization of infrastructure facilities” of Grozny (North) International Airport named after A. A. Kadyrov. The shares must be transferred within six months.
Construction of the international terminal of Grozny city airport in the shape of a crescent began in July 2022. In 2018 at the Ministry of Transport evaluated reconstruction of the airport in 15.7 billion rubles. In 2023 for reconstruction from the budget allocate 1.3 billion rubles, in 2024 – 2.5 billion rubles.
