Russian President Vladimir Putin on Wednesday, March 27, met with cultural workers of the Tver region during his trip to Torzhok.

The head of state said that “when we hear this from the outside, when someone talks about the abolition of the culture of the Russian people and the culture of the peoples of Russia in general, we understand that only stupid people can talk like that.”

Putin emphasized that culture “creates the spiritual framework of the people, our identity supports ours, and, of course, plays a very important role in such turning points, difficult moments, even tragic ones.”

It is culture that “gives strength to the people, to each individual person,” the Russian leader summed up.

Earlier, Vladimir Putin noted the diversity of our country’s culture and stated that “it makes sense to get to know her better, to understand her, especially for people who live outside Russia.”

Meanwhile in Yaroslavl decided to cancel the play “Einstein and Margarita” based on the play “Almar” by Alexander Gelman, in which Ksenia Rappoport and Alexey Serebryakov play. The reason for the cancellation was the appeals of activists due to the socio-political position of the artists criticizing the special operation.
