Putin supported the issuance of electronic permits and licenses for businesses

Russian President Vladimir Putin supported the government’s proposal to transfer all necessary permits and licenses for business into electronic form next year, transmits TASS.

“We would ask for your consent <…> to carry out in 2023 the transfer to electronic form of all permits and licenses demanded by business. <…> If you had given such an instruction, we would, of course, have carried out this work in 2023,” Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Grigorenko, head of the government apparatus, said at a meeting between Putin and the Cabinet of Ministers.

“Of course,” the head of state replied to this proposal.

Deputy Prime Minister Grigorenko, during his speech, said that now many types of entrepreneurial activities require permits and licenses. According to him, “these are hundreds of types of permits, more than 50 types of licenses.” Grigorenko also added that over a million permits are issued or renewed every year in Russia. According to the Deputy Prime Minister, businesses have already requested to simplify such procedures.

In 2021, an experiment was launched to optimize the procedures for issuing permits and licenses for businesses, reminded Grigorenko. “As an intermediate result, already today we see that the terms for obtaining permits and licenses under the pilot project have been reduced by more than two times. The number of documents has also been reduced by about half,” the Deputy Prime Minister said. Grigorenko noted that thanks to this experiment, some documents became available through public services. According to him, such steps “saved the applicant” from submitting documents “that the state already has in other executive authorities.”
