Putin: Russia will not supply energy resources to price-restricting countries

Russia will not pay for “someone else’s welfare” at its own expense. Moscow will refuse to supply energy resources to those countries that will impose price restrictions on Russian energy. This was stated by Russian President Vladimir Putin, calling the continuation of supplies in the event of limits being set contrary to common sense.
“Russia will not act contrary to common sense, pay for someone else’s well-being at its own expense. We will not supply energy resources to those countries that will limit their prices,” the head of state said at the Russian Energy Week forum (quoted from “RIA News”).
In September, US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen statedthat in the United States, the introduction of price limits for Russian oil is considered the best way to minimize Russia’s budget revenues. Previously G7 countries reported about plans to introduce a ceiling on oil prices from Russia from December 5. 5 October European Union agreed the eighth package of sanctions against Russia, which prohibits the transportation of Russian oil to third countries at a price higher than the established one.
