Putin proposed to expand the program of concessional lending for hotel projects

During his speech at the plenary session of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF), President Vladimir Putin proposed expanding the program of concessional lending to hotel projects.

He noted that it is necessary to focus not on current figures, but on the fact that the tourist flow will continue to increase.

“In this regard, I propose to expand the program of concessional lending to hotel projects, to focus on supporting the most demanded segment – these are three and four stars. I know that businesses are planning or are already implementing such projects in the Crimea in the Far East, Siberia, the Caucasus, in the south and in the central part. Putin noted that the direction of recreation in modular hotels and glampings is actively developing. “Last year we allocated 4.2 billion rubles. to support this direction. Covered 174 projects in 24 regions. But the demand is higher. I propose to allocate 11 billion rubles in the next two years. for the construction of modular hotels,” the head of state said.

According to Putin, this will finance another 470 projects for almost 9,000 square meters. m.

On June 15, at the forum, Deputy Minister of Economic Development Dmitry Vakhrukov said that according to forecasts, by 2030, the internal tourist flow in Russia will be at the level of 140 million people. “As for the strategic tasks, we predict and will strive to increase the number of tourist trips. Now we see a target of up to 140 million people by 2030,” he said. At the end of last year, the figure was 73 million, Vakhrukov recalled.

On June 13, the government press service reported that the construction of modular non-capital buildings to accommodate tourists in 2023-2024. about 8 billion rubles will be allocated, subsidies will be provided to 38 regions.
