President Vladimir Putin called on businesses to abandon the artificial fragmentation of their structures. He said that he instructed the government to hold an amnesty for small companies that were forced to use tax optimization schemes and split up their businesses.
“I ask the government and parliamentarians to work out amnesty mechanisms for companies so that they can operate in a whitewash,” the president said during his address to the Federal Assembly. The president also said that a mechanism for the transition from a simplified taxation system will be worked out.
Share splitting (split) is an increase in the number of securities of the issuer traded on the market by reducing their value while maintaining capitalization at the same level. The company divides the share into several new ones to increase the liquidity of the securities.
Vladimir Putin emphasized that domestic business should operate in Russian jurisdiction, and not abroad. Authorities and business representatives meet regularly to discuss measures to support Russian business, the president noted.
