Putin gave Russian citizenship to 90-year-old writer Garry Karolinsky
Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree on granting Russian citizenship to writer Garry Karolinsky (Tabachnik) and his wife, who live in the United States.
The text of the document indicates that Karolinsky was born in 1930 in Ukraine, his wife – in 1939 in Russia.
Harry Tabachnik, who during the years of his creative work took a pseudonym – Harry Karolinsky, was born in Odessa, worked at the radio “Mayak”. In 1973 he emigrated to the United States, where, in addition to writing books, he worked at the Voice of America and Liberty radio stations (both are included in the register of foreigners in the Russian Federation). According to media reports, now Karolinsky lives in New York, but in recent years he has participated in various events of compatriots in Moscow and Crimea.
