President Vladimir Putin met with heads of Russian manufacturing companies in the Kremlin. At the meeting, the issue of the development of the Kirov Plant was also discussed, the general director of the enterprise Sergey Serebryakov reported on the development of a machine for engineering troops. “Whatever we start with, we end up with a Kalashnikov assault rifle,” Vladimir Putin replied, quoting ex-premier Viktor Chernomyrdin.
“Indeed, some time ago the enterprise was in a difficult position and in recent years has been transformed technologically and in terms of financial recovery,” the president added (quoted from TASS).
PJSC “Kirovskiy Zavod” is one of the oldest and largest industrial enterprises in Russia. The plant specializes in the production of tractors, household appliances, turbine generators for icebreakers, equipment for heat and hydropower, as well as metallurgical products.
According to the SPARK system, at the end of 2022 PJSC Kirovsky Zavod showed a large loss of 1.8 billion rubles. A year earlier, the holding had a net profit of 789.8 million rubles. At the same time, sales revenue over the past two years was almost at the same level (in 2022 – 2.6 billion rubles, in 2021 – 2.79 billion rubles).
