President Vladimir Putin awarded actor Vladimir Konkin with a certificate of honor for his contribution to the development of national culture and art. Mr. Konkin is best known for his roles in the films “How the Steel Was Tempered” (1973), “The Romance of Lovers” (1974) and “The Meeting Place Cannot Be Changed” (1979).
Vladimir Konkin is 72 years old. In 1972, he graduated from drama school and went to work at the Kharkov Youth Theater. His first film work was the role of Pavel Korchagin in the television film “How the Steel Was Tempered.” He became widely known for his role as senior lieutenant Vladimir Sharapov in the film “The Meeting Place Cannot Be Changed.” The actor’s last work was his role in the TV series “Lenin’s Testament” (2007), dedicated to the centenary of the birth of Varlam Shalamov.
Currently, Vladimir Konkin is the head of the creative association “Children of Melpomene” and is a member of the central council of the political party “A Just Russia – For Truth”. In 2010 he was awarded the title of Honored Artist of Russia. In 2020, the president awarded the actor the Order of Friendship.
