Putin announced his readiness to supply gas to Europe via Nord Stream 2

Germany is not resuming operation of the surviving Nord Stream 2 pipeline, but Russia is ready to supply gas through it, says Russian President Vladimir Putin. He stated this in interview American journalist Tucker Carlson.

Mr. Putin recalled that Nord Stream 2 was damaged as a result of the explosion, one of its pipes is “alive and well”, and it can supply gas to Europe. “Germany doesn’t open it. We are ready (to supply gas.— “Ъ”), please,” the President of the Russian Federation assured.

He clarified that large volumes of gas could also be supplied through the Yamal-Europe gas pipeline, but Poland closed it. “Poland is taking advantage of the Germans… Germany feeds Poland to a certain extent. And they took and closed the route to Germany. For what? I don’t understand,” added Vladimir Putin.

The Russian President noted that Germany is also the second largest sponsor after the United States in terms of financial assistance to Ukraine, and two gas routes pass through Ukrainian territory. “They took one route and simply closed it, the Ukrainians. Open a second route and, please, receive gas from Russia,” Mr. Putin said, wondering why the German authorities could not agree on this issue with Kiev.

Explosions at Nord Stream and the uncommissioned Nord Stream 2 occurred on September 26, 2022. Western media wrotethat the explosion was coordinated by the former commander of one of the units of the Special Operations Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Colonel Roman Chervinsky. February 7 Sweden announcedthat it has not found any suspects and is stopping the investigation into Nord Stream.

This week it also became known that German authorities are discussing the nationalization of Rosneft’s oil refining assets, which were already taken under control in September 2022.
