Putin allowed Rosbank to buy Societe Generale's shares in Russian assets

Russian President Vladimir Putin today, December 24, signed orderby which Rosbank is allowed to buy out shares of the French financial group Societe Generale, in particular in VTB, Rosseti, RusHydro, Inter RAO, Gazprom, Surgutneftegaz, ALROSA.

In addition, Rosbank is allowed to buy out the shares of the French group in Territorial Generating Company No. 1 (a subsidiary of Gazprom), Rosneft, Tatneft, Novolipetsk Metallurgical Plant, Rostelecom, LUKOIL, Severstal, Unipro, Polyus, Norilsk Nickel, Second Generating Company of the Wholesale Electricity Market, Mosenergo, Transneft, Aeroflot, Russneft, Gazprom Neft and Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works.

In the spring of 2022 Societe Generale sold Rosbank to billionaire Vladimir Potanin. In February 2023, Frank Media, citing sources reportedthat the last Russian asset of Societe Generale – a representative office of the leasing company ALD Automotive – will be sold to the structure of Expobank owner Igor Kim.
