In calmer times, there were many programs on television that no one seemed to watch, but everyone knew what was shown there. Now lively talk shows with staged passions about the life of stars are recognized as too frivolous a genre. But sometimes the public, greedy for something like that, gets a lot of luck.
The psychic show sometimes acts as a savior of the genre. Here, the main goal, of course, is not screams and mutual reproaches on occasions directly related to celebrities, but sometimes a real secular thriller with a witching aura turns out.
In a recent issue, psychics, at the suggestion of Pierre Narcisse’s ex-wife, tried to find out the real cause of the musician’s death. The medical diagnosis seemed completely implausible to everyone, and a more authoritative explanation for the departure of a 45-year-old man was, of course, sought in magic.
The plot of the investigation developed very rapidly. A voodoo cult, a curse imposed by a whole host of magicians, the voice of a deceased singer suddenly sounded, and then his image seemed to flash in the mirror, memories of difficult family relationships and alcohol abuse, confessions in family rituals, the essence of which was that the spouses drank each other’s blood, finally, an unsuccessful love spell, which led to fatal consequences. “Hands to cut off such uneducated sorcerers!” – sounded like a verdict.
Probably, after watching this magical plot, you may be a little ashamed of the time spent in this way. But the program nevertheless fulfills its main function: it surprises. Sometimes you just refuse to believe that such things are still shown on TV. And at the same time you admire the work of the team of this show. At the twenty-third season, it could have turned into a corrosive popular science program, but it turns out that there is still strength for shock content. Many colleagues are likely to be jealous.
COOKS SAVE TV
TV shows about food are confidently becoming the main entertainment projects. And all because they are full of life. The search for delicious food is increasingly turning into a quest, and on the screen it looks much funnier than in real life.
Programs about how chefs go somewhere in order to find breakfast, lunch, dinner, and maybe even an afternoon snack of their dreams, while cooking something of their own, are on many channels. And all these projects are similar to each other. The main role is played by a cook, as a rule, with a slightly inflated ego, and Russian cities, landscapes, restaurants, cafes, shawarma stalls, folk crafts, farms and stuff like that flicker around this metropolitan foodie.
Perhaps such programs would not have become so noticeable if they had not been helped by the developers of large and important entertainment formats. All these developers were carried away by singing virtual puppets and gatherings under the bribed folklore. As a result, in the big rich studios they prepare a very insipid mixture of nostalgia, high-tech, tearful stories and exaggerated pathos.
Against this backdrop, seemingly simple gastro-travels look fresh, energetic and sometimes very tasty. Separately, it is pleasing that venerable chefs remain cosmopolitans, who are less and less on local television. Of course, they love to talk about new Russian cuisine, but at the same time they famously juggle advanced technologies and recipes from all over the world. After such programs, you want to have a nice bite to eat. After prime time entertainment, a sullen drink.
