Profit of game developer Electronic Arts increased by 33% – Kommersant

Yesterday, November 1, game developer Electronic Arts (EA) presented reporting for the second quarter of fiscal 2024, ending at the end of September. The company’s revenue remained almost the same (increased by 0.5%), amounting to $1.9 billion. Net profit increased by 33%, to $399 million. EA also improved its profit forecast for the 2024 financial year as a whole: from $947 million– 1.09 billion to $1.11–1.27 billion.
Also, EA, which is known among other things for its sports simulators, reported good results for the recently introduced game FC 24. In the first four weeks after release, the number of active accounts in FC 24 reached 14.5 million. This is EA’s first football simulator that is not part of its popular FIFA franchise, the Fédération Internationale de Football Association and EA have collaborated for nearly three decades, but last May reported about the termination of this cooperation.
Electronic Arts shares rose almost 6%.
