The first production of liquefied natural gas (LNG) on a floating plant as part of the Marine XII project offshore the Republic of the Congo, in which “Lukoilwill start in December of this year. “The first production of liquefied gas will begin at the end of this year, in December. The liquefaction capacity will be 600,000 tons per year,” he said.
The commissioning of the second floating unit will increase production capacity by another 2.4 million tons, up to 3 million tons, Romanovsky added.
The Italian energy company Eni will be engaged in the implementation of gas supplies from the Marine XII project, the vice president of Lukoil noted. Sales markets will depend on the situation that will develop at the moment when LNG volumes appear.
“Lukoil» bought a 25% stake in Marine XII from the English company New Age 25% in 2019. The project operator Eni has a 65% stake in the project, another 10% from the state-owned Societe Nationale des Petroles du Congo. How wrote then Vedomosti, the deal amounted to about $ 800 million.
