Printing equipment manufacturer F+ imaging acquired Russian assets of Lexmark

The parent company of one of the largest suppliers of Marvel Distribution electronics, F-Plus Equipment and Development, has closed a deal to buy the Russian division of the American printer manufacturer Lexmark, about this reported on the company’s website. The amount of the transaction is not disclosed.

According to a representative of F-Plus, the Russian legal entity Lexmark International Rus will be renamed F-Plus Imaging. It will also continue to manage all current Lexmark contracts in Russia. It is noted that all equipment will be manufactured at the same factories as for Lexmark.

It is expected that F-Plus Imaging will hire sales managers and certified engineers who provide customer service support. “Lexmark has no production facilities, the main value of the company is the staff and customers,” the company noted.

The plans of the new management of the company are to occupy up to 20% of the market of printing equipment. According to IDC data for the first quarter of 2022, Lexmark’s share in the EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) region was 11.3%, the company was in 4th place behind HP, Canon and Kyocera. Now almost all of them have already left Russia and are selling off the rest from their warehouses. According to Alexey Melnikov, CEO of Marvel Distribution, in the coming years the print market will be represented by an extremely limited number of participants, including Asian vendors.

Lexmark has been operating in Russia since 2010 as part of the Lexmark International group of companies and has specialized in the development, production and distribution of printing devices, including laser printers, multifunction devices (MFPs) and consumables.
