Primorye and the Mariinsky Theater went to establish friendly ties with the DPRK

Residents of North Korea will see the performances “Firebird” and “Sleeping Beauty”

The Primorsky delegation, headed by the Governor of the Primorsky Territory Oleg Kozhemyako, arrived in the DPRK with the aim of developing cooperation in the humanitarian sphere.

On March 18, a delegation from Primorye went to the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea together with artists from the Mariinsky Theater. For the first time, North Koreans will be able to experience the productions “Firebird” and “Sleeping Beauty”, which will be shown at the Mansudae Arts Theater in Pyongyang.

“We continue to establish friendly ties with the DPRK. We are flying to Pyongyang with a large coastal delegation to develop cultural, sports, educational and tourist exchanges,” Oleg Kozhemyako shared in his Telegram.

The press service of the regional government reported that the theater’s tour will be the beginning of the development of humanitarian cooperation between the two countries. The commentary states: “The Democratic People’s Republic is our neighbor, with whom we are now dynamically developing relations: children’s and student sports games, tourist trips, cultural ties.”

Oleg Kozhemyako noted that the DPRK is increasingly attracting interest among our citizens who want to get acquainted with the culture and traditions of the state. That is why “it is worth traveling and making contacts in order to live with your neighbors in peace and friendship.”
