Prime Minister of Belarus Roman Golovchenko said that his country is in favor of creating equal conditions with Russia in the field of cargo transportation. This issue will be discussed on March 27 in Moscow at a meeting of the Council of Ministers of the Union State.
“A number of important issues for Belarusian business entities will be brought up for this meeting. This includes cooperation in the field of transport. We must and will achieve equal conditions in the field of cargo transportation. I mean the solution of the issue of access to cabotage transportation,” said the Prime Minister of Belarus (quoted by TASS).
Belarus is counting on Russia to lift the ban on cabotage transportation, as this would simplify the work of Belarusian cargo carriers under sanctions. In 2020, the State Duma adopted on first reading a bill allowing carriers from the EAEU to carry out cabotage in Russia. However, the bill was not considered after that.
