The revenue of the Premier online cinema (part of the Gazprom-Media holding) for 2022 increased by 22%, Kommersant was told in the service, without specifying the absolute figures. The number of users paying for a subscription increased by 45% – from 2.5 million to 3.6 million. In 2021, the company reported a growth in the number of paying subscribers by 22% year-on-year.
Analysts’ forecasts of a market drop for Premier did not come true, due to the low share of foreign content and the production of their own, said a service representative (meaning forecast J’son&Partners about the halving of the market for legal video services against the backdrop of Western advertisers’ refusal to cooperate and the lack of foreign novelties).
“Even before the sanctions, foreign content accounted for only about 30% of the total number of video service projects, so the majors’ refusal to cooperate with the Russian market did not affect the content library,” Premier said in a statement. Among the projects of its own production, released in the service in 2022, are Identification, Survival Game-2 and Epidemic-2, added Sofya Mitrofanova, General Director of the service.
