Power Machines refuted the version of Gazprom Energoholding (GEH) about the untimely delivery of steam turbines for the modernization projects of Surgutskaya GRES-1 and Neryungrinskaya GRES RusHydro, follows from the company’s statement received by Kommersant on January 25.

The press service of Silmash claims that OGK-2, a member of the GEKh, notified the company of the suspension of the contract for the supply of turbines in December 2023, indicating that “the need for early termination of the contract is not related to the failure or improper fulfillment of its obligations by Power Machines and request to consider the possibility of using the equipment in other projects.” Thus, termination of the contract is exclusively an internal decision of the customer, the company said in a statement.

The company’s press service notes that Silmash entered into agreements with PJSC OGK-2 for a comprehensive replacement of steam turbines complete with generators for the Surgut project in December 2021. Delivery dates for main equipment are the first and second quarters of 2025. Silmash concluded a contract for the supply of steam turbines for two power units of the Neryungri State District Power Plant with RusHydro in December 2022. The delivery date for equipment for the state holding is the first quarter of 2026.

“For both projects, Power Machines JSC has begun execution: contracts for the supply of long-cycle billets from suppliers have been concluded, equipment units are at different stages of design, supply of long-cycle billets, and manufacturing. No delays in project completion are expected.” Currently, the implementation of the Surgut State District Power Plant project has been suspended, negotiations are underway on the terms of termination of the contract, Silmash added. The production of equipment for the Neryungri State District Power Plant is carried out within the agreed time frame.
