Post-Bank warned of temporary restrictions on transactions with its UnionPay cards abroad

In the near future, transactions with UnionPay cards from Post-Bank may be temporarily limited abroad for technical reasons. As explained in the bank, this is due to its transition to a new platform for payments on cards of this payment system.
How long the restrictions will last is unknown. “If you are abroad, we recommend withdrawing cash from the card as soon as possible. On the territory of Russia, UnionPay cards of Post-Bank work without restrictions and in full, ”the press release says (Kommersant has it).
Union Pay cards have remained one of the few options for Russians to pay for overseas expenses. Cards of this payment system are issued by Gazprombank, Rosselkhozbank, RRDB, Russian Standard Bank, Post Bank and Primsotsbank. In July, such a service was launched by the Asia-Pacific Bank, owned by foreign shareholders.
