Polymetal, Russia’s largest silver producer and one of the country’s leading gold miners, is considering the sale of Russian assets after the re-registration of the company from Fr. Jersey (UK) to Kazakhstan. This was announced on August 9 during a conference call by Polymetal CEO Vitaly Nesis.

The issue of selling Russian assets, according to the top manager, will be put to a vote at the shareholders’ meeting. At the same time, most of them, says Nesis, “are tentatively ready to support the deal.” The largest shareholder of the company is the East group of Alexander Nesis (brother of Vitaly) and partners, they own about 24%.
