Low-cost carrier Pobeda will add Boeing aircraft to its fleet next year. The airline’s fleet will increase to 42 aircraft.
“The new aircraft will begin flying in the middle of next year,” the low-cost airline’s press service reported (quoted by TASS).
According to RBC, Pobeda will receive a plane from the charter airline Royal Flight, which ceased flights in 2022 amid sanctions. The publication clarifies that at the end of 2020 the low-cost airline had 34 Boeings. In 2021 Aeroflot (MOEX: AFLT) handed over ten aircraft to his “daughter”. In 2022, three Boeings were seized from Pobeda abroad, and its fleet was reduced to 41 aircraft.
After the start of the military operation in Ukraine, Russian airlines were banned from using European aircraft, and those leased under old contracts were required to be returned. In December Reuters reportedthat Russian airlines want to buy back planes stuck due to sanctions.
