Pig farmers warned of a possible shortage of vaccines and an increase in their cost

Due to the rules for registration of veterinary drugs and vaccines coming into force on September 1, 2023, Russian pig farmers will face a shortage and rising prices for such products. This opinion was expressed to Vedomosti by a top manager of a large agricultural holding. The existence of such risks was confirmed by representatives of ABH Miratorg and GC Agropromkomplektatsiya. They are also considered real by the Association of Veterinary Pharmaceutical Manufacturers (AVFARM, which unites the largest manufacturers of medicines for veterinary use, including Zoetis, Elanco, Boehringer Ingelheim).
On July 13, Kommersant reported on the risks of reducing the number of available imported medicines for pets for the same reason.
