Pharmacy owners threaten to increase prices by 20%

Pharmacy owners are threatening to increase prices by 20% – we are talking about drugs that are not included in the list of vital ones. They will have to resort to such a step if the State Duma passes a bill on limiting marketing bonuses, which are a significant part of pharmacy revenues.
The bill, which limits the amount of remuneration to pharmacies for the provision of drug promotion services to 5%, will lead to a significant reduction in the operating profit of chains. This will provoke an increase in prices for drugs that are not included in the list of vital and essential drugs (VED), or to the closure of outlets against the backdrop of lower profitability. This statement was made by representatives of the Apteka Pharma, Apteki 25 and Rigla networks. The Association of Independent Pharmacies and the Proapteka Marketing Union have the same position.
