Pharmacy chains of the Katren group returned to the top three market leaders a year later

Erkapharm and Melodiya Zdorovya, which are owned by the large distributor Katren, took 3rd place in the ranking of the largest pharmacy chains in Russia in the first quarter of 2023, which was compiled by the analytical company DSM Group. It follows from it that in the first three months their turnover decreased by 6.3% compared to the same period last year to 22.1 billion rubles. Nevertheless, these networks were able to bypass Iris, which eventually dropped to 5th position in the ranking with a turnover of 17.7 billion rubles. (-24.6% yoy). As a result, the share of Katren pharmacies in the market increased from 4.6% to 5.3%, while Irisa dropped from 4.6% to 4.2%. At the same time, the leaders of the rating have not changed: Rigla (part of Vadim Yakunin’s Protek holding) retained the 1st place with a turnover of 36.3 billion rubles, the second position was occupied by the Aprel network of Vadim Anisimov (27 billion rubles). ). The representative of “Rigla” confirmed the data of DSM Group. In April and Katren, Vedomosti did not respond to a request.

Katren merged Moscow’s Erkapharm (its pharmacies operate under the brands Ozerki, Doctor Stoletov, Samson-Pharma) and Novosibirsk’s Melodiya Zdorovya into one pharmacy chain in 2021. The networks include 2,091 outlets in different regions Russia. The companies themselves were already among the top 3 largest players in the industry, but in the first half of 2022 they lost this position to Iris.
