Pharmaceutical associations asked not to impose an excise tax on ethanol to avoid price increases in pharmacies
[ad_1]
The introduction of an excise tax on ethanol will lead to an increase in the price of alcohol-containing drugs, including those from the list of vital and essential drugs (the cost for them is set by the state. – Vedomosti), and until the new price is registered, the release of such drugs may be stopped due to unprofitable production. Such a warning was issued by various pharmaceutical associations, among them the Association of Pharmaceutical Manufacturers of the Eurasian Economic Union (AFPEAEU, its members are such companies as Biocad, Geropharm, Nanolek, Medisorb, etc.), the National Association of Pharmaceutical Manufacturers and medical products “APF” and the Union of Professional Pharmaceutical Organizations. They expressed their concerns in a letter to Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin. Vedomosti got acquainted with a copy of the document.
A government spokesman confirmed receipt. The document, according to him, was forwarded to the Ministry of Finance. The representative of the Ministry of Finance said that this appeal to the department has not yet been received.
