Peskov: Russia sees a blank wall in the investigation of explosions at Nord Stream

Russia has a negative attitude to the fact that it is not allowed to take part in the investigation of explosions on the Nord Stream and Nord Stream 2 gas pipelines, said Dmitry Peskov, press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation. According to him, such behavior of Western countries “does not contribute to the search for truth.”
Mr. Peskov said that the UN Security Council’s discussion of the bombings had drawn attention “to the need for a thorough and transparent investigation.” However, on the other hand, according to the press secretary, the Kremlin sees a “blank wall of unwillingness” to conduct an investigation on the part of Western countries. They, in his opinion, want “not to get too hung up on this issue and gradually make sure that this topic goes into the sand.”
“We regard this as a very, very negative manifestation that does not contribute to the search for truth and the identification of those who are guilty of this terrorist act. But, of course, Russia will continue to do everything possible, although, I repeat, unfortunately, we are limited in our capabilities here,” Dmitry Peskov added.
The explosions at Nord Stream 1 and the non-commissioned Nord Stream 2 occurred on September 26, 2022. Russia considers the incident acts of international terrorism. February 8, 2023 journalist Seymour Hersh published article titled “How America Destroyed the Nord Stream Gas Pipeline”. It claimed, citing one source “with direct knowledge of operational planning,” that the gas pipeline explosions were a covert US operation.
