The Peruvian authorities want to make the Russian market one of the main importers of their coffee, said the country’s ambassador to Moscow, Juan Genaro del Campo Rodriguez. He clarified that Peru is one of the top 10 coffee exporters in the world, and is also the first exporter of organic coffee.

“Peru has been supplying coffee to Russia for a long time, but we would like to turn the Russian market into one of the main importers of our coffee. To this end, the Peruvian Embassy plans to organize an event in May to promote Peruvian coffee in Moscow in order to attract new Russian entrepreneurs interested in purchasing our coffee,” the diplomat said in an interview with RIA Novosti.

By estimates NielsenIQ, in 2023, sales of instant coffee increased by 3.4% in volume and by 4.3% in money, while natural coffee sales decreased by 3.3% and 0.3%, respectively.
