Perm plant resumed production of Kama bicycles

At the Perm plant “Forward” mass production of bicycles of the revived brand “Kama” has been launched. According to the press service of the government of the Perm Territory, the assembly line of the enterprise began assembling the first batch of an updated version of bicycles, which were produced in Perm from the 1970s to the 1990s. The party will consist of 3 thousand copies. It is limited: in honor of the 300th anniversary of Perm, which the city will celebrate in the summer, the logo of the anniversary is placed on the bikes. It is planned that in the next two weeks, bicycles will begin to arrive at the plant’s dealer stores throughout the country.
The revived Kama will be included in the Forward product range and, along with other bicycles of the company, will be sold in retail at a price of about 12-13 thousand rubles. This year, only bikes in classic red will leave the assembly line, in 2024 options for other colors of the tricolor will be added. In addition, from 2024, the company expects to expand its lineup by adding bikes with different wheel diameters and speeds.
Previously, Kama bicycles were produced by the Perm plant Velta. In the early 2000s, the company went bankrupt and was liquidated. On the basis of the plant, the Forward company was created. In April 2022, Forward declared about the intention to resume the production of bicycles under the Kama brand.
