Pepsi has decided to update the logo for the first time in 14 years. About it reported company press office.
In the new version, the word “Pepsi” will be written in bold black and placed in the center of a circle on a white background. Above and below there will be wavy stripes of red and blue colors, respectively. The new design will also feature a lot of black, which confirms Pepsi’s commitment to low sugar drinks.
“In an increasingly digital world, updated and distinct design brings movement and animation,” the company said in a statement.
According to Mauro Porcini, the chief designer of PepsiCo, the decision to place the word in the circle was due to the fact that most often people, when drawing a company logo from memory, place the company name not next to the circle, but in the center. “We could not ignore such a vision,” said he’s in conversation with CNN. Now the company logo is a three-color circle with duller colors, and the word “Pepsi” is located next to the right side.
It is specified that in North America, products with an updated logo will go on sale this fall, and worldwide in 2024. The update is timed to coincide with the 125th anniversary of the brand.
After the start of a special military operation in Ukraine, Coca-Cola and PepsiCo began to reduce their presence in Russia. In particular, they have decided to suspend investment in marketing and stop producing and selling their global beverage brands in the Russian market — Coca-Cola, Fanta, Sprite and Pepsi, 7UP and Mirinda, respectively. In September 2022, Reuters reported that PepsiCo had completely stopped production of Pepsi, 7UP and Mountain Dew in Russia.
