In 2023, the cost of summer holidays in Russia will rise in price by 15% compared to last year, said Ilya Umansky, President of the Russian Union of Travel Industry (PCT). According to him, holidays abroad will become more expensive by 15-20%.
The head of the PCT explained that prices depend on the seasonal factor and sales dynamics, and they are also affected by changes in the exchange rate. “Now we have again entered the phase of growth of foreign currency against the ruble, so it is impossible to clearly predict this parameter,” he said (quoted by TASS).
At the same time, according to his estimates, the tourist flow in Russia can grow by 10%, abroad – by 25-30% in 2023. “The dynamics of the tourist flow is influenced by two factors – the availability of transportation and the availability of hotel infrastructure. The hotel infrastructure in Russia is growing year by year, and this will have a positive effect on the volume of domestic tourist flow,” said Mr. Umansky.
The rise in air travel has already led to an increase in the average check when booking a tour abroad with the capture of March 8 by more than 60% in a year. According to Travelata.ru, the average check rose to 159.9 thousand rubles. Demand is recovering due to the expansion of flight opportunities and the availability of popular tour operators in Egypt and Thailand.
