“RIA News” received access to a document according to which the updated list of parallel imports includes Canon, Fujifilm and Sony cameras, Duracell batteries, eyewear brands Ray-Ban, Hugo and Calvin Klein, as well as spare parts for Isuzu cars. Acuvue contact lenses are still not on the list.

Acuvue Oasys and Acuvue True Eyes contact lenses are manufactured by Johnson & Johnson. At the end of May, market players told Kommersant that Johnson & Johnson began sending notices to optics stores about the suspension of imports. After that, the Ministry of Industry and Trade announced the inclusion of contact lenses produced by this company in the list for parallel imports. On July 28, Vasily Osmakov, First Deputy Head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia, announced that lenses from this manufacturer would not be included in the updated list of parallel imports.

On June 28, President Vladimir Putin signed law, which legalizes parallel imports for 2022. The same law removes criminal and administrative liability for this type of import. In May, the Ministry of Industry and Trade added more than 50 categories to the list of goods allowed for parallel imports – cars, auto parts, electronics, and many others.
