The Pakistani oil refinery Pakistan Refinery Limited (PRL) intends to continue importing and refining oil from Russia. This was stated by the chief executive officer of the company, Zahid Mir, whose words are quoted by the Pakistani edition of The News.
He added that negotiations are now underway on a new deal for the supply of Russian oil. According to Mir, PRL will again process Russian crude oil “when it is available on favorable commercial terms.” Russian Energy Minister Nikolai Shulginov previously clarified that payments for the supply of oil and petroleum products to Pakistan would be made in the currencies of friendly countries, and Russia would provide discounts on raw materials “equally for everyone on a commercial basis.”
