The British company Reckitt Benckiser announced yesterday’s announcement about the sudden resignation of its CEO Lakshman Narasimhan from September 30th. Recall, it was reported that “for family and personal reasons, Mr. Narasimhan decided to leave for the United States, where he found an occupation that allows him to live there.” News of the sudden departure of Mr. Narasimhan, who launched a massive restructuring plan at Reckitt Benckiser, took investors by surprise – the company’s shares fell more than 4%.
Yesterday, September 1, late in the evening, the American coffee chain Starbucks reportedthat Lakshman Narasimhan will become its new CEO from October 1st.
For six months, he will reportedly work alongside Starbucks founder Howard Schultz, who has long been looking for a successor to head the company. During the transition period until April 2023, Messrs. Narasimhan and Schultz will lead the company together. After that, Mr. Narasimhan will become the permanent CEO of Starbucks, and Howard Schultz will move away from the operational management of the company. However, he will remain on the board of directors and continue to advise Mr. Narasimhan.
