Online cinema Okko passed into the possession of its top management

The Okko online cinema became the beneficiary of its CEO Sergey Shishkin, TASS reported, citing sources in the market. Okko Kommersant confirmed the fact of the change of the founder of the company, refusing to comment on the details of the transaction.

Initially, Okko belonged to Sberbank, but in May the bank came out from the capital of an online cinema and some other companies in the ecosystem, including streaming services Zvuk, Okko Sport, cloud service provider SberCloud, POS equipment operator Evotor and STC (formerly the Center for Speech Technologies, develops solutions in the field of recognition speech). The owner of the assets then became New Opportunities JSC, established on March 24, 2022 and owned by Tatyana Portnykh.

Kommersant’s interlocutors linked the transfer of the asset by Sberbank to sanctions from Western countries imposed after the start of a special military operation in Ukraine. Sberbank, on the other hand, claimed that the bank was “reviewing its shareholding in a number of assets as part of the strategy update.”
