One of the world’s largest transport companies CMA CGM sold its asset in Russia for €1

The French transport and logistics company CMA CGM, one of the largest in the world, has sold 50% of the Russian container operator Logoper. The new owner was the former top manager of Russian Railways, Alexander Kakhidze, who previously owned the second half of CMA CGM. Thus, Mr. Kakhidze consolidated all 100% of the company.
From the data of the Unified State Register of Legal Entities, it follows that the transaction was completed on April 12. As clarified RBC Alexander Kakhidze himself, it was carried out at a price of €1, but with an option to return the partner to the business in the future.
CMA CGM Group is the third largest container shipping company in the world. According to Alphaliner, the total capacity of its fleet is over 3.4 million containers. At the end of 2022, the company’s revenue amounted to $74.5 billion, net profit – $24.9 billion. CMA CGM became the owner of 50% of Logoper in February 2018. Last year, Logoper transported more than 120,000 TEU. For 2022, Logoper managed to double its revenue, up to 15 billion rubles.
