On the New Year’s broadcast, OTR will reveal the behind-the-scenes of “The Nutcracker”

Details of the channel’s holiday projects have become known

This year, the channel’s New Year’s projects have gained considerable scope. On air they will wax nostalgic about film music, diligently study New Year’s symbols, and also walk through the backstage of the theater and circus.

On the evening of December 31, in the special New Year’s project “Our Christmas Tree,” the hosts of the morning program “Reflection” Anastasia Semenova, Maria Karpova, Pyotr Kuznetsov and Anton Lipovsky, as well as actor Maxim Merkulov, will talk about the symbols and satellites of the New Year. Why did the Bolsheviks try to fight Santa Claus after the 1917 revolution and why did they lose this fight? What was contained in the instructions for using the New Year tree, written by Vladimir Mayakovsky? Who really is the Snow Maiden related to Santa Claus and what connects her with the works of the great Italian sculptor Michelangelo? The cross-cutting theme of the special project will be the history of the New Year’s song itself, “A Christmas tree was born in the forest,” the name of the real author of the words of which was only declassified sixty years after their first publication.

Immediately after the chimes, the premiere of another New Year’s project will take place – “Music of Mosfilm”, compiled from popular songs from the golden film collection of the legendary studio. The concert “Tchaikovsky in Jazz” is a completely different, but also vivid musical experience. Honored Artist of Russia, leader of musical groups united under the common name “Phonograph”, Sergei Zhilin and his musicians will perform in a new way the well-known melodies of the great Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, included in the cycle “The Seasons”.

From year to year, the Nutcracker ballet becomes one of the most desired New Year’s performances for lovers of classical art. Of course, not everyone can get into the Bolshoi, but television has a much wider audience. A few hours before the chiming clock, the film “Behind the Scenes” was broadcast. Bolshoi Theatre,” which will show how they work on the ballet “The Nutcracker,” will provide an opportunity to look into the dressing rooms, halls, workshops, control rooms of the theater and go from setting up the scenery and the first rehearsals to the director’s team to raise the curtain.

On January 7th, spectators will visit the backstage of the circus. The authors of the film “Behind the Scenes”. Viewers will also be offered time-tested film hits (“Pokrovsky Gate”, “Fanfan-Tulip”, “Roman Holiday”, “Dark Eyes”, “Marriage Italian Style”, “An Ordinary Miracle”, “Sun Valley Serenade”, “Vicky Cristina Barcelona” “, “The Barber of Siberia”), and film adaptations of world-famous works (“Gone with the Wind”, “War and Peace”, “Quiet Don”, “The Brothers Karamazov”, “Running”, “The Golden Calf”), and domestic fairy tale films (“After the Rain on Thursday”, “Cain XVIII”, “An Old, Old Tale”, “There, on Unknown Paths…”, “City of Masters”, “Three Fat Men”, “A Tale of Wanderings”).

At night, full-length cartoons for adults are broadcast (Cryptopolis, The Red Turtle, The Freudian Heist, The Beast’s Apprentice, Tale of Tales, Scrap Head). Most of them will appear on OTR for the first time.
