On Steam you can now hide your games from friends – Kommersant

American company Valve updated digital distribution service for video games Steam, thanks to which users can now hide their games from friends. The feature has been in beta testing since late 2023.

It is now possible to make games private even before purchase; all add-ons to private games automatically become hidden. Valve has also improved the shopping cart: it is now consistent across all user-authorized devices (including the portable Steam Deck console and mobile devices). You can now buy gifts for several friends in one order, and ordering itself has been simplified.

Previously Valve reported, that during the first weekend of March 2024, the digital distribution service for video games Steam broke the record for the number of simultaneous online users. At the same time, the record was updated twice: first on Saturday, March 2, and then on Sunday, March 3, when more than 34.7 million people were online at the same time, of which almost 11.2 million were playing games.
