The American agro-industrial company Bunge, which owned, in particular, the Oleina brand, completed a deal to sell its business in Russia, according to website Russian branch of the company. In September, it became known that Bunge would sell its last asset in the Russian Federation – an oil plant in the Voronezh region – to Karen Vanetsyan, the main owner of ExOil Group.
The company’s website also reports that from the closing date of the transaction, February 3, Bunge CIS LLC continued the production and sale of vegetable oils at a plant in the Voronezh region, already under the control of the new owner. It is noted that the name of the company will be changed in the near future, and all the details of Bunge CIS LLC remained unchanged.
Bunge began to reduce its presence in Russia back in 2021. Then the company sold Rostov grain terminal with a capacity of 700 thousand tons per year to the structure of the former top managers of United Grain Company JSC Marat Shaidaev and Alexei Chemerichko. On September 19, Bunge announced that it would sell an oil plant in the Voronezh region to ExOil Group. In addition to Oleina, Bunge also owned the Ideal sunflower oil brand in Russia.
