offers to buy physical digital rubles – fraud – Kommersant

The digital ruble does not imply a physical form. Therefore, any offers to purchase its physical media are fraudulent, said Olga Skorobogatova, First Deputy Chairman of the Bank of Russia.
“We will have three forms – cash, non-cash on bank accounts and non-cash digital rubles on the platform of the Central Bank. Therefore, citizens do not need to buy anything (physical digital rubles.— “b”), moreover, even try to look for them,” Ms. Skorobogatova emphasized during a press conference (quoted from TASS).
As the first deputy chairman of the Bank of Russia noted, since there is no physical form for the digital ruble, offers to buy it are fraud and deceit. “If citizens really want to try transactions with digital rubles, they should contact the banks where they are serviced,” she added.
Conducting real transactions with the digital ruble for individuals and legal entities in Russia will begin August 15. It will be possible to carry out transactions using a special information system. The Bank of Russia has been appointed its operator. For citizens, operations with the digital ruble will be free, for businesses – 0.3% of the payment amount.
